Frequently Asked Questions

General Product Inquiries

To enjoy peak flavor and quality, we recommend consuming our refrigerated products (like Peameal Bacon or sliced deli meats) within 4–5 days of opening. Ensure they are kept well-wrapped or in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

We use various types of casings depending on the product. For our specialty pork sausages, we typically use natural or high-quality collagen casings to ensure the perfect "snap" when grilled.

Leadbetters is proud to be a Canadian company based in Orillia, Ontario. We source our raw materials from CFIA-inspected facilities and HACCP-certified processors to ensure the highest food safety and quality standards for every burger and piece of bacon we produce.

Allergens & Dietary Information

Food safety is our top priority. We follow strict sanitation protocols between production runs. Our equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized daily, and we schedule production in a way that minimizes the risk of cross-contact with allergens.

Cooking & Storage

Yes! Our burgers are designed for convenience. For the best results on the grill or stovetop, cook from frozen on medium-high heat. For our Burgers, we recommend approximately 4–6 minutes per side until an internal temperature of 74°C (165.2°F) is reached.

We do not recommend refreezing raw meat products once they have been thawed, as this can affect the texture, moisture levels, and overall quality of the cut.

Our Peameal Bacon is best enjoyed when sliced and pan-fried over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. It’s a "Cottage Country" breakfast staple!

Quality & Pricing

The cost of premium beef and pork is subject to market conditions. Factors such as grain prices, transportation, and labour can influence the final price at your local grocery store. We strive to provide the best value possible without ever compromising on the quality our customers expect.

We stand behind every box that leaves our facility. If you are not satisfied, please contact us with the LOT code and the Best Before (BB) date from the package. Having a photo of the product and receipt is also very helpful for our quality control team to investigate.
